Spoiler alert: I talk about my relationship with God here.
I spend a lot of time prepping my heart to be right with God. In this life there are many kinds of disasters that might happen - earthquakes, wars, car wrecks or cancer. Suffering and death are a part of life. If your heart is right with God, in the big picture, it's all OK. "Be not afraid of sudden fear...for the Lord shall be your confidence."
When I'm worried and stressed about the direction of this world and wonder what I should do about it all, these words help: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths."
I can have a million dollars worth of supplies, but that's not where my trust is. Someone can steal my supplies. One accident, and I can lose my health. My life is in God's hands. This world is not my home. I'm just passing through.
A wise person will prep for this world, and also prep for the next. Save up supplies, learn about wild edibles, and develop a prayer life. Live your life prepared for anything, including the end of it.
